M Cream – another film dedicated to ‘maal’

After watching Udta Punjab, most people would now be aware of what maal stands for. To explain the term even better, Agneya Singh’s directorial M Cream is set to release on July 22. The film has a quirky concept – the quest for a mythical form of hash called  M Cream.

The film will see several college students from Delhi on a road trip to the far reaches of the Himalayas. The movie stars critically acclaimed actors like Imaad Shah, Ira Dubey, acting master Barry John, Auritra Ghosh, Raaghav Chanana, Tom Alter and  Lushin Dube.

M Cream was screened at the Rhode Island International Film Festival where it received the Grand Prize for Best Feature Film. It has also travelled to several other international film festivals, garnering both accolades and critical acclaim. The realistic portrayal of India’s new generation is what’s being appreciated the most about the film.

One can only wonder – How many cuts will the film face before the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) certifies it?
