A window to my adventures in Spain

Hola!

The story goes that once a Spanish king had a lisp. And it was because of him that Barcelona came to be known as Bar-the-lona (lisp on the ‘s’ sound, FYI). To be honest, it’s more fun to pronounce the lisp!

The Spanish cosmopolitan city, with its vivacious historic architecture and its colourful people, is one place that I would love to go back to.

The iconic Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, a Gaudi masterpiece.

Be it the food, the monuments, the buildings, or just rambling along the Las Rambla, Barcelona has something for everyone.

The city centre of Barcelona, Plaza de Catalunya.

And then, of course, there is the Spanish capital, Madrid. As soon as you step into Madrid after spending a few days in Barcelona, you will feel a drastic change in the vibe. Whether you will like the change or not, well that’s a question only you can answer.

There are delicious desserts everywhere in Spain!

However, after my visit, I discovered that most people choose a favourite between Barcelona and Madrid. While Barcelona has all things ‘Gaudi’, Madrid has a (sort-of) shrine to the legendary Ronaldo, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. While Barcelona has Las Rambla, Madrid has the Gran Via. I am pretty sure I could go on and on.

The La Gran Via is kind of Madrid’s answer to Times Square (it is called mini New York after all!).

All you have to do is stay tuned to this space to read detailed accounts of my travels and adventures in Barcelona and Madrid.

Hasta la vista, amigos!
