I started Delhi Messenger, a website dedicated to travel, arts and culture, and music, in the year 2016. I had just started my career as a journalist after completing my PG Diploma in English Journalism.
Since the beginning of my career, I wanted to start something of my own. Due to my full-time job as a journalist, Delhi Messenger always remained a silent gig in the background without any significant readership.
When I first began writing blogs, the basic question in my mind was ‘who will read my blog?’ I didn’t know. I just knew there would be people who would connect with my writing and would be able to relate. In the last two months, about 30,000 people have read my articles. It took 5 years to reach this level. But all these years I wasn’t consistent. Maybe more people would have read If I had written more.
I am trying to give more time to the website these days. Maybe because I have more free time now as I am not working full time. I see my life in phases and it’s currently undergoing a life-changing phase. For the first time, I am living in a foreign country thousands of miles away from my family and friends.
I will try to devote more time to my writing and creative space which has always been my inclination. I truly believe that my journey as a writer has just begun and I am thankful to all of those lovely people who take their precious time out to read my blogs.
This is my third week in the city of Leeds in England. It’s a bright sunny day and I have just finished my breakfast and ginger tea. Now, we are trying to set the agenda for the day. We (Prakriti and I) are planning to go to a park to spend some time with nature and maybe will go shopping in the evening.
I keep Sundays for chilling and to reenergise myself for the week ahead. Happy Sunday to you all!
